Live on the Lawn at Rathmullan House
Live on the Lawn at Rathmullan House
Saturday night 17th September 2016 was calm and a full moon shone over Lough Swilly illuminating the lawns to the front of Rathmullan House. This was the venue for the first Live on the Lawn event and it featured the very talented In Their Thousands who played in the large tent to the front of the hotel.
The Rathmullan House Good Food on Wheels van supplied a selection of tasty bites including fish cakes and duck cassoulet. The wood fired pizza ovens of Scarpello and Co were kept busy serving their delicious pizzas on the patio outside the Taproom.
The Horsebox Bar
Kinnegar Brewery had re-modelled a horsebox – fitting it with taps and served their local craft ales to the side of the main tent

A Flavour of #LiveOnTheLawn
The folks at Rathmullan Cottages compiled a few video clips – posted to their facebook page – to get a flavour of the event
Walking home along “the walks”
After a very pleasant evening on the lawn we wandered towards the village along Batt’s walks, watching the full moon peer through cloudy skies with the faint red glow of Derry City above the hills of Inishowen and Lough Swilly.
A lovely surprise at The White Harte
We decided to pop into the White Harte where the crowd had assembled after the event and were treated to the spectacle of first class tap dancing from cast members of Lord of the Dance who had assembled for a local wedding. The perfect end to a perfect evening :)
